Director of Sioux Gateway Airport/Col. Bud Day Field, announced today the launch of a new Airport website.  The Airport website address, www.flysiouxgateway.com, provides visitors a whole host of information on the Airport, services provided, and traveler tips.

Airport Receives Small Community Air Service Development Program Grant

Director of Sioux Gateway Airport/Col. Bud Day Field announced today that the Department of Transportation has awarded Sioux Gateway Airport/Col. Bud Day Field a $609,800 Small Community Air Service Development Program Grant.

Airport Passengers Increase 11% in June

Director, Sioux Gateway Airport/Col. Bud Day Field announced today an 11% increase in total passengers for June compared to June of 2003. The increase makes June the fourth consecutive month of increased passengers, the first time that has happened since the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.

Airport Completes Phase 1 of Taxiway Alpha Project

Director of the Sioux Gateway Airport/Col. Bud Day Field, announced today the completion of the Taxiway Alpha project phase 1.  The construction was required to accommodate the conversion from the Iowa Air National Guard’s F-16 fighter aircraft to the KC-135 air refuelers.

Northwest Airlines Announces Fall Airfare Sale

SIOUX CITY, IA - Northwest Airlines recently announced their Fall airfare sale. Fares are good for travel from August 25, 2003 to December 16, 2003.  Tickets must be purchased by August 17, 2003.

Airport Receives $95,927 Commercial Air Service Vertical Infrastructure Program Grant

Director of the Sioux Gateway Airport/Col. Bud Day Field, announced today the receipt of a $95,927 Iowa Commercial Air Service Vertical Infrastructure Program Grant.  Since 1999 the Airport has received $494,161 (including the current $95,927) from the Vertical Infrastructure Program to upgrade the Airport’s vehicle maintenance facilities.

Airport to Participate in Tri-State Disaster Exercise July 17th.

The Airport, in conjunction with Union County and Dakota County, will be holding a tri-state aircraft disaster exercise Thursday, July 17th starting at approximately 4:00 pm.  The Airport is required to hold a full-scale drill every three years, with a tabletop disaster exercise requirement in the interim years.
