Airport Receives $92,853 Commercial Service Vertical Infrastructure Program Grant

Director of the Sioux Gateway Airport/Col. Bud Day Field, announced today the receipt of a $92,853 Iowa Commercial Air Service Vertical Infrastructure Program Grant.  Since 1999 the Airport has received $398,234 (including the current $92,853) from the Vertical Infrastructure Program to upgrade the Airport’s vehicle maintenance facilities.

Airport Receives $219,079 in Airport Security Cost Reimbursement

Iowa's Transportation Appropriation Bill Eliminates Aviation Funding

Director of the Sioux Gateway Airport/Col. Bud Day Field, reported that the State’s Transportation Appropriation bill removed the line item for aviation yesterday.  The State aviation funding from the General Fund has been decreasing, from $2.5 million in fiscal year 2000 to $2.1 million in fiscal year 2002 and in fiscal year 2003 it is being proposed to be eliminated completely.

Airport Ends Year With a 5% Increase in Passengers

Director of Airport Marketing for the Sioux Gateway Airport/Col. Bud Day Field, announced today that the Airport ended 2001 with a 5% increase in total passengers compared to 2000. The overall increase comes in spite of decreases in passenger traffic since the terrorist attacks in September.

Airport Passengers Decrease 33% in November

Director of the Sioux Gateway Airport/Col. Bud Day Field, announced today a 33% decrease in total passengers for November compared to November of 2000. The decreases in the past three months come at the end of six consecutive months of strong passenger increases.

Chautauqua Airlines to Hold Regional Jet Ribbon Cutting
