Wednesday, February 07, 2001Airport Enplanements Increase 7% in JanuaryAirport Operations Increase 5%SIOUX CITY, IA - Barbara Sloniker, Director of Airport Marketing for the Sioux Gateway Airport announced today a 7% increase in enplaned passengers for last month compared to January of 2000. Total passengers were up 5% comparing the same time periods. Trans World Express alone saw a 70% increase in passenger traffic. Ron Pye, XXXXX for Trans World Express said, �We�re absolutely thrilled by how well the Siouxland community has responded to our service. We remain fully committed to providing the best passenger service we can.� Glenn S. Januska, Airport Director stated, “there are so many positive things happening at the Airport right now. With Northwest scheduling its morning jet departure for 6:45 now, I’m optimistic about our passenger totals this year.” The Airport also reported that overall Airport traffic (aircraft takeoffs and landings) for January increased 5%
