Airport Passengers Increase 3% in March

SIOUX CITY, IA - Barbara Sloniker, Director of Airport Marketing for the Sioux Gateway Airport announced today a 3% increase in total passengers for March compared to March of 2000.  This increase comes on top of a 5% increase in passengers for January but a decrease in February.  Overall, the Airport has seen a year to date increase of 3%.

Glenn S. Januska, Airport Director stated, “obviously the weather created havoc in the month of February, or I think we would be showing even stronger passenger totals this year.  I think with the passenger loading bridge on order, Northwest bringing regional jets in June 1st, and the continued phenomenal passenger increase on TransWorld Express, 2001 is going to be a good year for the Airport.” The Airport also reported that overall Airport traffic (aircraft takeoffs and landings) for March increased 4%.
