Monday, July 14, 2003Airport to Participate in Tri-State Disaster Exercise July 17th.SIOUX CITY, IA - The Airport, in conjunction with Union County and Dakota County, will be holding a tri-state aircraft disaster exercise Thursday, July 17th starting at approximately 4:00 pm. The Airport is required to hold a full-scale drill every three years, with a tabletop disaster exercise requirement in the interim years. The Airport last held a full-scale exercise in 2001, but elected to hold one this year to meet exercise requirements for Union and Dakota counties. If you are interested in covering this tri-state, mutual aid disaster exercise, please contact David McWilliams, Airport Operations Manager. PLEASE NOTE: While representatives from the mutual aid agencies are aware of the exercise and have participated in creating the exercise scenario, personnel on duty the day of the exercise are not aware of the exercise and will not become aware of the exercise until it actually starts. |
