Tuesday, June 05, 2001City Council Approves IDOT / Airport Marketing Program AgreementSIOUX CITY, IA - The Sioux City Council approved Monday night a resolution authorizing the Airport Director to execute a commercial air service marketing program agreement with the Iowa Department of Transportation (IDOT). The IDOT reimburses the Airport for 50% of eligible marketing project costs, with an amount this year not to exceed $31,984. The Airport uses these joint marketing funds for newspaper and radio advertising, market research, travel, general advertising, promotions, and public relations work. “This is a wonderful program I was not aware of when I began at the Airport, and certainly not something that was done in Wisconsin,” said Glenn Januska, Airport Director. “These funds are critical in our ability to really promote the Airport and to increase the visibility of all the things the Airport does for the community and local economy.” |
